Stephen Byrne at Training the Trainer sessions held at University College Dublin, Ireland, The Institute of Technology, Tallaght, Ireland and The College of Business & Management, Budapest, Hungary.

This guide is designed to assist teachers evaluate the increasing range of software materials for language learning.

This paper reports on an investigation based at Trinity College Dublin, into the pedagogical value of a multimedia course called 'Let's Do Business', an English course for business people on CD-ROM. The presentation will focus on the learner's interaction with the training materials with a special emphasis on cultural issues.

This talk reports on the pedagogical value of Let's Do Business, an English language training course for business people on CD-ROM developed by Abacus Communications. The CD-ROM based course was examined in context of more conventional learning environments. The main conclusion is that close parallels appear to exist between the nature of the interaction in the CALL environment and the negotiation of meaning that takes place in pair-work activities in the classroom.
